Athletic Trainer
Karin Krzal
was hired as the University of Maine at Farmington athletic trainer in June of 2007.
Krzal
comes to Farmington
from Burke Mountain Academy in Burke, VT, where she worked
since 2002 as the head athletic trainer. Previously she had spent two
years working at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, in the
recreational and intramural department from 2000-02.
Krzal has a
bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Springfield College
in Springfield, MA and a master of science in sports psychology from
Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She also holds certification as
a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) from the National Strenght
and Conditioning Association.

Dr. Nancy
Cummings
Team Physician
Dr. Cummings
is an orthopedic surgeon at Franklin Orthopedics in Farmington. She
also staffs the Sports Medicine Clinic for individuals of all ages
who suffer from a sports-related injury.
Dr. Cummings
received her undergraduate degree in biology from Bates College. she
received her Doctor of Medicine degree from Columbia University's
College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York.
Greg Ellis
Team Physician Assistant
Ellis
is employed by Franklin Orthopedics in Farmington. He received his
degree in physican assistant studies at the University of Kentucky.
Prior to that, he completed his Bachelor's degree in pre-med from
Northern Arizona University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He is
certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician
Assistants and also holds a surgical certification from the NCCPA.
Before joining
Franklin Orthopedics, Ellis provided care in the emergency
department at Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan. He has also
provided urgent treatment and orthopedics on a part-time basis at
the Carrabassett Valley Clinic at Sugarloaf.
