Women's volleyball falls to Worcester St.

FARMINGTON -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's volleyball dropped a 3-1 (21-25, 25-20, 25-21, 25-14) decision to Worcester State College in the opening day of the UMF Invitational tonight.

In other opening day action, Thomas College blanked Massachusetts Maritime Academy 3-0 (25-8, 25-11, 25-8). Action is scheduled to continue on Saturday with Farmington vs. Thomas and Worcester St. vs. Mass. Maritime at 10 a.m. and Farmington vs. Mass. Maritime and Thomas vs. Worcester St. at noon.

Jenna Rowan (Kittery, ME) collected 11 kills, 11 digs, four service aces and four totals blocks (one solo, three assists), while Caitlin Flaherty (Pembroke, MA) registered 15 digs and Shannon Mitchell (Portsmouth, NH) notched 10 kills with her hand in nine blocks (two solo, seven assists).
